How to use a smartphone with an OBDII Bluetooth adapter to read fault codes on the OBDII connector
preparation
Purchase an OBDII Bluetooth adapter compatible with your smartphone and download and install the corresponding OBDII diagnostic application on your smartphone.
Ensure that the Bluetooth function of the smartphone is turned on and the battery is sufficient.
Connect adapter
Insert the OBDII Bluetooth adapter into the vehicle's OBDII interface and turn on the vehicle's ignition switch to the "ON" position.
Connect the application and read the fault code
Open the OBDII diagnostic application installed on your smartphone, search for available Bluetooth devices in the application, find and connect to the OBDII Bluetooth adapter.
After successful connection, select the "Read Fault Code" option on the main interface of the application. The application will communicate with the vehicle's ECU through a Bluetooth adapter to read the fault code.
